Job Summary
Model and simulate emerging fire and explosion safety problems for the energy and fire protection industries, with a focus on lithium-ion battery thermal runaway, battery energy storage system gas explosions, and fires in the built environment. Apply robust knowledge of heat transfer, combustion, material decomposition, fire dynamics, and computational fluid dynamics using state-of-the-art CFD software and finite element analysis tools. Collaborate with a team of engineers and scientists to solve complex safety challenges. This role is part of the UL Solutions Modeling and Simulation team and Research and Development group.
