AI R&D & Effectiveness Lead

Lead Smadex's AI R&D & Effectiveness initiatives by defining and operating a production-grade ROI evaluation framework for AI investments, building agents, integrations, and automated workflows, and guiding the decision process from ideation to production across AI capabilities, models, and tools. Responsibilities include owning ROI analyses for AI initiatives, maintaining build-vs-buy evaluations for platforms and integrations, designing and shipping production AI agents and workflows with security and efficiency principles, documenting solutions for cross-functional teams, maintaining AI capability matrices, benchmarking capabilities against business use cases, driving forward-looking R&D through horizon-scanning and rapid prototyping, and communicating build recommendations to non-technical stakeholders. Required experience includes 4–7 years in AI engineering or related hands-on roles with production AI builds, familiarity with business SaaS like Salesforce/Slack/Notion, and a strong ability to quantify trade-offs and justify investments.
