Job Summary
AI Policy Research Resident, Associate / Specialist at RAND's CAST seeks to own significant research workstreams and deliverables for senior policy audiences, including research design, technical policy analysis, framework development, literature reviews, stakeholder interviews, and rapid-response policy analysis. The role involves drafting policy briefs, memos, and reports; presenting to technical and non-technical audiences; monitoring U.S. and international AI policy developments; and shaping CAST’s research agenda with emerging questions. Requires strong analytic and writing skills, ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and a mission-driven, adaptable mindset. Education: minimum Bachelor's degree; PhD or Master’s with relevant experience preferred for higher levels. Location options include Washington, DC; Pittsburgh, PA; Santa Monica, CA; Boston, MA; or USA-wide remote with hybrid options; term is 3 years with full-time employment and salary range $110,900–$183,300 depending on title and experience.
