Job Summary
Audit and organize the case management system to ensure files, deadlines, and client records are complete and accurate. Build AI-assisted workflows to process medical records, intake calls, and case documents, allowing attorneys to focus on casework. Draft client updates and status communications for attorney review and approval. Document workflows and procedures to improve efficiency on future cases. Participate in intake and case review meetings and prepare follow-up summaries. Evaluate new AI tools and report findings and recommendations to the team. Develop simple dashboards to track case status and identify process bottlenecks. This is a supervised, non-legal support role working under the direction of attorneys and staff. The intern will be entrusted with confidential client information from day one, and discretion is a core expectation.
Required Qualifications
- Current Arkansas state resident
- Ability to pass a standard background check
- Ability to work 32-40 hours a week, during and following the three-month internship
- Ability to work full-time in the United States without a current or future need for visa sponsorship
- High curiosity and interest in learning new technologies and growing or starting your IT career
- Technical aptitude exhibited through projects, experience, or online learning and the ability to communicate what you know
- Strong problem-solving instincts
- Eagerness to learn quickly
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, high-stakes environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic analytical ability, including the capacity to interpret operational data
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, case management or CRM platforms (e.g., Filevine, CASEpeer, Clio, Litify, Smokeball, HubSpot, or similar)
- Genuine interest in legal technology, automation, and process improvement
- Comfort using AI tools and large language models (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar) to improve efficiency
- A self-starter mindset, with the ability to build processes rather than wait for direction
- Trustworthiness with confidential information and a strong commitment to client privacy
- The ability to write clearly and effectively on the first draft, including emails, briefs, and status updates
- Comfort working with numbers, spreadsheets, and basic logical reasoning
- A genuine interest in AI tools, paired with the discipline to develop real proficiency
- Sound judgment regarding confidentiality and the maturity to safeguard sensitive information
- The willingness to ask for help or flag issues before they become larger problems
