Job Summary
AI-Native Product Engineer at Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions – a senior, architecture-forward role that combines building, shipping, and owning the end-to-end product foundation. You will own the feature from intent to production, enforce SOLID architecture and contract-first design, and ensure tests, observability, and release readiness are embedded in the codebase. You will manage multiple agentic work streams in parallel, build UX directly in code with AI assistance, and drive architecture that scales with AI generation across frontend, backend, APIs, and data. You will deliver composable, testable, and mergeable code with clear module boundaries, versioned APIs, and rigorous verification, while maintaining accountability for production outcomes and high-quality documentation generated from the codebase.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Deep fluency with SOLID principles, clean architecture, separation of concerns, and design for testability
- Track record of building systems that other engineers, and now AI agents, can safely extend in parallel
- Strong full-stack delivery background across frontend, backend, APIs, data, and integration
- Experience with contract-first design using OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, JSON Schema, or typed schema systems
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted or agentic development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or Copilot
- Comfort building user-facing experiences directly in code, including layout, interaction states, accessibility, validation, and error handling
- Strong test mindset. Comfortable producing unit, integration, contract, UI, and regression tests as part of delivery
- Experience with CI/CD, PR review, static analysis, automated quality gates, and release readiness
- Ability to evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, maintainability, security, and architectural fit
- Willing to reject code that compromises the foundation
- Strong context-switching discipline. Able to direct multiple parallel work streams without dropping the thread
- Excellent written communication that comes through in code, PR descriptions, architectural notes, and release notes
- Ownership mindset. You are accountable for what runs in production with your name on it
