Job Summary
AI Native Engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining production-grade LLM-based extraction pipelines to parse unstructured pathology reports, map biomarkers and clinical entities to case records, and integrate multi-modal data pipelines with HL7/FHIR interfaces. The role requires implementing confidence scoring and human-in-the-loop validation, architecting data fusion between pathology LIS data and genetics systems, and ensuring regulatory-compliant data privacy with de-identification and auditing. Strong emphasis on agentic frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex), REST API design in regulated clinical environments, and familiarity with clinical data standards and pathology data formats. Hybrid office/remote work arrangement in Basel, Lausanne, or Zürich with international, regulated healthcare product environment and long-term ownership opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- 4–7+ years of core software engineering experience with Python and SQL
- Proven experience with LLM APIs and production-grade text-extraction pipelines
- Experience with agentic frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex)
- Experience designing REST APIs within regulated or clinical environments
- Familiarity with HL7 v2, FHIR, and data models like OMOP CDM/CDISC
- Knowledge of digital pathology formats (DICOM, SVS/NDPI) or LIS systems
- Hybrid working model experience
