Job Summary
Lead AI/ML engineer role focused on designing and implementing production-grade multi-agent AI systems for financial advisors. Responsibilities include building agent workflows with context retrieval, reasoning, tool execution, validation, and compliance checks; developing distributed services with strong observability and failure handling; establishing data agents to ground AI models in correct data; embedding AI agents and chatbots into client-facing platforms; evaluating multi-step reasoning accuracy and regulatory compliance; memory management and state persistence; refining knowledge bases and agent configurations; and guiding infrastructure decisions for model serving, vector databases, caching, and orchestration. Key initiatives include advisor-facing AI design, workflow automation, and building a scalable AI agent platform with reliability and governance in mind. Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust agent architectures; optimize for latency and cost; location-flexible hybrid work with offices in Stamford, San Ramon, or San Mateo.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience in production environments
- 2+ years building and deploying LLM, GenAI, or agent-based systems in production
- Expert-level proficiency in Python
- Experience with agent frameworks and tool orchestration (e.g., LangChain, OpenAI function/tool calling)
- Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS) and RAG architectures
- Experience with distributed services/microservices architectures
- Observability, monitoring, and fault-tolerant systems for high-availability applications
- Strong grounding and data integration skills for financial data
- Experience with model serving, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, ML, AI preferred
