Job Summary
AI Incubator Data Scientist at Barclays-style AI incubator in India. Build relationships with senior stakeholders across the bank to identify data-science value opportunities, develop machine learning models and AI products, apply AWS data-transformation and feature-engineering, and deploy production-grade solutions. Leverage GenAI and state-of-the-art AI techniques to extract business value from large datasets, communicate complex ideas through data visualisation, and collaborate with ML Ops to streamline production readiness. Lead projects within the AI incubator, contribute to design-led, fail-fast experimentation, and ensure alignment with organizational rules, risk controls, and Barclays Values. The role emphasizes delivering commercial value from data across the Corporate Bank, with opportunities to shape and lead initiatives alongside cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or masters degree in data science (or similar) or equivalent commercial experience
- Experience with working with senior stakeholders across the data science life cycle
- Ability to translate technical work into business terms and communicate value
- Commercial experience in applying machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, classification, regression, NLP)
- Strong Python and SQL skills
- Familiarity with AWS data science and AI services (SageMaker, Bedrock)
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, etc)
- Knowledge of code management methodologies
- Understanding of GenAI, LLMs and RAG framework
- Experience with large data environments (PySpark)
- Front end development frameworks (optional)
- Experience with ML Ops and deployment pipelines
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and lead technical discussions
