Job Summary
Develop domain-specific questions probing the limitations of modern AI models in organic and inorganic chemistry. Perform peer reviews of questions developed by others and submit clear, thorough summaries. Work asynchronously on tasks with occasional live meetings, maintaining a schedule between 8 and 40 hours per week. Compensation is based on the number of submitted and peer-reviewed questions, with good performance yielding approximately $30/hr. This independent contractor role supports a research department at an established AI company pioneering new data development approaches. Candidates must be located in U.S. time zones (excluding California, Illinois, and Texas), hold a relevant degree or professional expertise, and possess strong writing and editing skills.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree, Graduate Degree (holder or candidate), faculty, or professional expert in Organic and Inorganic Chemistry or other relevant discipline
- An academic or professional focus in Organic and Inorganic Chemistry
- Recent experience in the field as: Professor/Lecturer/Instructor, Graduate Assistant, Undergraduate or graduate level teaching assistant, Researcher, Editorial board member, Consultant, adviser, or professional in the field
- Strong English grammar, writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- The ability to write clear, thorough yet succinct summaries
- Attention to detail in reviewing and editing written materials
- The ability to work asynchronously on tasks and occasionally meet live to discuss the tasks
- A reliable computer and internet connection
- A signed NDA and completed background check are required
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in Test Item Writing, Exam Development, Exam Scoring, or AI is a huge plus
