Job Summary
AI Engineer, Special Programs responsible for designing, building, and optimizing integrations between AI frontier models and government systems, APIs and developer tools; collaborating with agency stakeholders to prototype solutions and iterate rapidly based on real-world feedback; delivering production-grade code with a bias toward speed and impact; leveraging experience with cloud platforms, containerization, and AI safety/governance to support missions for U.S. federal agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience in software development in lieu of a degree
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) or API orchestration
- Strong Python proficiency; experience with large language models, generative AI, or agentic systems
- Experience working with government or public sector technology environments
- Excellent communication skills; ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical partners
- Prior work on AI safety, governance, red-teaming, or responsible AI deployment
- Experience with production-grade code and rapid iteration
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends; travel up to 20%
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret Security Clearance
