Job Summary
Senior AI Engineer responsible for end-to-end ownership of major AI features in production. You will design, implement, and maintain output-type-based AI systems with robust tool contracts and orchestration across multiple LLM providers, integrating workflows using frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex. You will drive AI output quality, reliability, and experimentation, including A/B testing, data-driven impact assessments, and production observability with Langfuse and related tools. The role emphasizes building scalable TypeScript/Node.js backend and frontend integrations (Next.js), managing complex AI pipelines, prompt systems, and reliable AI-to-service integrations within a squad-based engineering organization.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of backend/full-stack software engineering experience with production-grade TypeScript/Node.js; Next.js and/or Python is a plus
- 2+ years of experience building AI/LLM systems in production
- Deep hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar)
- Experience with Agentic AI, multi-agent orchestration, tool-based workflows (function calling/tool execution), and/or RAG pipelines
- Experience with LLM observability tools such as Langfuse, LangSmith, or similar
- Experience with AI gateways and model routing solutions, such as OpenRouter or equivalent
- Solid understanding of Redis and PostgreSQL
- Exceptional ownership mindset and personal responsibility for engineering quality and delivery
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) and building tool contracts for AI agents
- Experience with MCP servers/clients or designing tool contracts for AI agents
- Experience with Langfuse, LangSmith or similar observability tools
- Experience with AI gateways and model routing solutions (e.g., OpenRouter)
- Experience building AI/LLM systems in production
- Experience with multi-agent orchestration and tool-based workflows
- Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar orchestration frameworks
- Experience with distributed AI systems and prompt management
- Experience with evaluation frameworks for LLMs
- Experience with edge/serverless runtimes (e.g., Cloudflare Workers) and payments/billing systems
