AI Engineer (R&D)

Job Summary
Hands-on AI Engineer (R&D) to design, develop, and deliver production-grade data solutions within R&D. Focused on building data capture, ingestion, and analytics systems for structured and semi-structured data across the R&D lifecycle; develop Python and SQL data pipelines and AI-enabled analytics with emphasis on performance, reliability, and maintainability; use AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate delivery while upholding security, privacy, and quality standards; translate requirements into functional data products and applications; create interactive front-end prototypes to validate user workflows; provide technical leadership through architecture input and code reviews; lead end-to-end User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production readiness; provide post-deployment support and data quality checks; evaluate third-party AI platforms for fit and cost; communicate progress and decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
- 7+ years of Python experience for data engineering and analytics
- 5+ years of SQL expertise
- Experience designing and optimizing data models
- 5+ years of cloud-based data platforms (Databricks, Delta Lake, or equivalent)
- 3 to 5 years of experience building/launching apps or data products using AI-assisted coding tools
- Experience with Git-based workflows (branching, PRs, reviews)
- Strong communication skills
- Self-directed, delivery-focused in fast-moving environments
