Job Summary
The AI Engineer will join Lasting Change as the first dedicated AI role within the Data & Innovation team, designing, building, and deploying AI-powered solutions to boost staff effectiveness and client services. Responsibilities include surfacing insights from complex documentation, reducing administrative burden, and enabling faster, more informed decision-making across programs and operations. The role requires fluent Python and SQL, collaboration across data teams, and a commitment to responsible, explainable AI with measurable outcomes. Travel may be required occasionally to subsidiary sites and training opportunities. The position emphasizes platform ownership, continuous improvement, and staying current with AI developments to scale capabilities within the organization.

- Experience building or integrating MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers or equivalent agent-to-tool integration patterns
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; comfortable across prototyping, pipeline development, and production deployment
- Experience with cloud AI platforms; Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI Foundry, or equivalent best-in-class tooling strongly preferred

- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain AI concepts, system behavior, and trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated commitment to responsible AI practices including explainability, fairness, and appropriate human oversight
