AI Engineer

Design and build the core AI platform that connects Hotwire's business applications, data sources, and AI models into reliable, production-grade pipelines. Own the model deployment layer, configure, version, and maintain LLM endpoints across Azure OpenAI and/or AWS Bedrock with environment isolation. Implement a model abstraction layer for portability across providers. Build and maintain an internal AI SDK / shared libraries for quick bootstrapping. Own infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines for AI services. Collaborate with Steering Committee to translate technical risk and feasibility for business leaders. Build and enforce input/output security controls (PII detection/redaction, prompt-injection detection, content policy filtering, RBAC). Partner with IT Security and Compliance to meet data residency, encryption, and access audit requirements. Maintain centralized secrets management. Implement an LLM evaluation framework and eval thresholds for production. Develop AI safety infrastructure (rate limiting, circuit breakers, timeout controls, async queue management). Configure private endpoints and VNet integration to keep data off public internet paths. Establish cost allocation, monitoring, and alerting. Maintain audit logs for compliance. Serve as technical reviewer for AI initiatives and contribute to vendor evaluations. Minimum qualifications emphasize production-grade LLM experience, Python excellence, API design, CI/CD, containerization, and cloud deployments.
