Job Summary
Principal Engineer Product Security role with hybrid work in Berlin, London, München, and Valencia. You’ll formulate and drive the product security strategy, elevate security maturity, create standardized security architecture and best practices, track remediation of risks, educate product teams on risk assessments and threat modeling, embed security tooling into the development process, review external penetration testing, collaborate with product teams to improve overall security, lead customer conversations on product security, and support audits and certifications. The role requires a strong technical background (5+ years, 2+ years in leadership), experience with Secure Architecture, Threat Modeling, DevSecOps, and hands-on security across Linux, Kubernetes, Terraform, Vault, API and web app security, plus excellent English communication. This position is hybrid with three days per week in the listed offices. Nice-to-have certifications in CISSP/CCSP/other cloud-security credentials and a passion for learning and leadership are valued.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of proven hands-on Product Security experience
- 2+ years in a leadership role focused on Product Security
- Experience with customer-facing security roles and influencing roadmaps in matrix organizations
- Experience with Secure Architecture design reviews and Threat Modeling
- Experience infusing security into SDLC
- Experience with Static Analysis and Secure Code Review
- Fluent English communication
Desired Qualifications
- Security Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist, or GCP/AWS/Azure security certifications
- AI aptitude for leveraging AI tools in security tasks
- Experience leading security initiatives in scale-up environments
- Strong customer-facing security experience and influence on roadmaps
