Job Summary
AI Engineer at AECOM conducting AI/ML development in the built environment. Role involves applying AI and large language models to infrastructure design and engineering workflows, leveraging Python, ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn), and geospatial libraries (GeoPandas, Shapely, ArcPy, FME). Collaborate with civil engineers, GIS/BIM specialists, and utility experts to translate planning and design challenges into AI-powered solutions; deploy tools via APIs, dashboards, or plugins integrated with ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and Rhino. Requires hands-on Python expertise, experience with LLMs, and a strong understanding of data pipelines, model evaluation, and regulatory alignment. Educational requirements include Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a related field, with Master’s or PhD preferred; 2+ years of AI/ML experience desirable. Strong communication and teamwork skills emphasized. The role supports a global infrastructure mission with a focus on innovative, sustainable, and resilient design and delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related engineering discipline
- 2+ years of AI/ML development experience, preferably in domains such as spatial/geometric analysis, geospatial data, or engineering applications
- Proficient in Python and familiar with relevant ML/DL tools and libraries
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related engineering discipline
- Master’s or PhD preferred
- 2+ years of AI/ML development experience
- Experience with Python and ML/DL frameworks
