Job Summary
Senior Associate Director leads AI/Data practice efforts in EM&V for utility energy efficiency and DSM programs. Oversees end-to-end client engagements from strategy through implementation, including program design support, evaluation methodology development, execution oversight, results presentation, and regulatory filings. Drives business development, identifies client needs, shapes proposals, grows strategic partnerships, and mentors multidisciplinary teams of data scientists, engineers, and consultants. Builds new solutions leveraging AI and advanced analytics across load management, demand response, energy storage, decarbonization, and electrification, while staying ahead of industry trends. Requires proven leadership in DSM evaluations, strong technical translation of results into actionable value, and proficiency in R, Python, SQL, GitHub, data visualization tools, and related AI software; excellent communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum SEVEN (7) years of experience in the energy industry with a proven track record in managing projects and business development—including client relationship management, opportunity identification, and contribution to revenue growth.
- Minimum FIVE (5) years of experience leading DSM program evaluations.
- Deep understanding of DSM customer program evaluation methodologies for load management and demand response, energy efficiency, renewable, EV, energy storage, decarbonization, and electrification programs.
- Ability to translate technical results into actionable insights and value propositions during client engagements.
- Proficiency in programming languages (R and the Tidyverse; Python; SQL), version control (GitHub), and AI-assisted coding (such as GitHub Copilot).
- Experience with data visualization tools (R Shiny, Dash, PowerBI) and standard office software.
- Academic or professional exposure to AI software (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude).
- Track record of leading large-scale evaluation engagements from concept through execution while expanding client relationships and uncovering new revenue opportunities.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
