Job Summary
Conduct individual mentoring sessions, office hours, workshops, and company reviews to advise founders on scientific strategy, technical development, product planning, customer discovery, regulatory pathways, and fundraising. Provide guidance on company formation, team building, market validation, and intellectual property considerations while assessing scientific feasibility and data strategy. Offer constructive feedback on investor materials and partnership plans, then make relevant introductions to researchers, clinicians, investors, and potential customers. Participate in events, panels, and Demo Day preparation to promote a collaborative, scientifically rigorous community.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, therapeutics, diagnostics, computational biology, synthetic biology, medical technology, artificial intelligence, or a related field
- Experience as a founder, executive, investor, scientist, clinician, researcher, product leader, technical leader, or industry operator
- Demonstrated understanding of early-stage company development and the challenges involved in translating innovation into commercially viable products
- Experience advising, mentoring, investing in, or supporting founders and early-stage companies
- Excellent judgment, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to provide candid and practical guidance while allowing founders to retain ownership of their decisions
- Commitment to responsible innovation, scientific integrity, diversity, and inclusion
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with AI-enabled drug discovery, computational biology, clinical development, digital health, medical devices, diagnostics, synthetic biology, or healthcare data
- Familiarity with regulatory strategy, intellectual property, clinical validation, biopharmaceutical partnerships, healthcare procurement, or reimbursement
- An established network across the Cambridge and Boston life sciences, healthcare, technology, investment, or academic ecosystem
- Previous involvement with an accelerator, venture studio, incubator, university innovation program, or founder community
