Job Summary
AI Agent Engineer role as Valitana's founding AI function lead. You will define how AI is designed, built, and governed across platforms, prototyping AI features, designing agent orchestration patterns, and hardening security/governance for trustworthy AI in a regulated environment. Responsibilities include prototyping features with product leadership, building AI agent orchestration infrastructure, developing prompt/context engineering systems, building evaluation pipelines and governance controls (prompt injection defense, data boundary enforcement, auditability), evaluating new AI tooling, collaborating with product/engineering/business stakeholders, documenting architectures and agent contracts, and staying current with AI frameworks and security best practices. Requires 3–5+ years software development, strong Python, experience with LLM APIs, multi-agent systems, security-mindedness, and Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
- 3–5+ years of software development
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar)
- Tool use, structured outputs, function calling, multi-turn orchestration
- Prompt engineering and context engineering
- Experience with multi-agent systems or AI pipeline design
- Security-first mindset with awareness of LLM-specific risks
- Ability to prototype rapidly across AI-powered solutions
- Proficiency across prototyping (Python, markdown-driven systems) and production (C#, Angular, SQL Server) environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-direction and multi-tasking in fast-paced environments
