Job Summary
Assume leadership in the absence of the Program Director, ensuring continuity of the residency program. Design, monitor, and enhance assigned curricula by setting clear goals and objectives. Provide faculty advisory support and leadership to residents while engaging and precepting them in clinical settings. Collaborate on developing and executing resident didactic lectures and hands-on curriculum. Contribute to grant-funded activities and support resident quality improvement research projects. Assist in planning orientations, retreats, faculty retreats, and CME events. Participate in resident and learner evaluation and assessment. Serve on graduate medical education, clinical competency, and program evaluation committees. Oversee clinical and business activities of the family medicine residency clinic impacting the department. Supervise faculty evaluation, advising work with residents, and contribute to the grievance process. This role supports the only rural residency program in Mendocino County, affiliated with UC Davis, within a 49-bed faith-based hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Board certification by ABFM in appropriate specialty or subspecialty
- Active CA medical license
- DEA certification
- Annual CPR certification
- Graduation from an accredited medical school
- Completion of a Residency program
- Minimum of two years of documented educational and/or administrative experience as a faculty member in a residency program or college of medicine
- Strong time management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Attitudinally suited to lead and contribute to a training program
- All required vaccinations, including measles, mumps, flu, and COVID-19 vaccine
- California licensure or eligibility
- Meeting the hospital's medical staff credentialing standards
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with ACGME regulations
- Experience in clinical practice and teaching in the specialty
- Commitment to ongoing CME requirements of the ACGME
