Job Summary
Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher, including preparing and managing classroom activities. Assist with administering and scoring objective testing instruments, maintaining orderly classroom environments, and managing student supervision across the lunchroom, bus, and playground. Help prepare instructional materials, maintain equipment inventory, and keep administrative records while making teachers aware of individual student needs. Participate in staff development training, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned, adhering to district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- Have met formal academic assessment, an associate's degree, or two years of study at an institution of higher learning
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Some experience working with children
