Job Summary
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents to perform detailed quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, and roadway items. Input and update data into estimating software such as HCSS, Agtek, and Bluebeam while organizing bid documents and maintaining project files. Coordinate with senior estimators to verify quantities, material requirements, and subcontractor inputs, and support the gathering of supplier quotes. Assist in building standardized takeoff templates and historical quantity databases under the guidance of experienced staff. This role is part of the estimating team for heavy civil and roadway projects across Florida.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in construction, civil engineering, or related field
- Familiarity with reading civil construction plans and performing basic measurements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Motivated to learn and grow in the construction estimating field
- Associate degree or coursework in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in construction, civil engineering, or related field preferred (internship or field experience accepted)
- Experience with takeoff or design software (Agtek, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, HCSS, or similar) is a plus
- Associate degree or coursework in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field preferred
