Job Summary
Identify, diagnose, and treat turf and ornamental issues while applying fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides to lawns and plant material per label instructions and regulatory requirements. Prepare and mix products using prescribed safety precautions, operate tools and vehicles safely, and maintain equipment cleanliness. Maintain accurate product usage records and complete work order correspondence. Retain customers through effective communication and rapport. Utilize hand and power tools for Integrated Pest Management duties. Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and working outdoors in various temperatures.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Pesticide applicator
- Knowledge of pesticide, fertilizer, and herbicide products and calibration
- Knowledge of turf and ornamental issues
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management
- Ability to work cooperatively with employees and the general public, as well as working independently
- Must be able and willing to work for long periods of time outside (in extreme temperatures and direct sunlight)
- Must be able and willing to bend, stoop, and twist repeatedly throughout the day
- Must be able to use hand tools and power equipment
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Desired Qualifications
- BMP Best Management Practices Certificate preferred
- Horticulture, L&O and agricultural experience in related fields is preferred
