Job Summary
Conduct crop development, insect, weed, and disease scouting, soil sampling, and petiole sampling while initiating an individual agronomy project by the internship's end. Perform field agronomy problem solving and maintain a clean work area, caring for all tools, machines, and equipment. Identify and communicate solutions within your area of responsibility, adhering to all safety rules and regulations. Present your project to leadership in a 15-minute session supported by training from Syngenta. Maintain professional relationships with peers and management, ensuring a positive image for R.D. Offutt Farms and Syngenta.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled or attending an approved agriculture program or another program approved in writing by R.D. Offutt Farms and Syngenta
- Maintain acceptable GPA and attendance while in the program
- Student must proactively communicate with management while attending school including providing a copy of their transcripts to R.D. Offutt Farms and Syngenta management after each quarter or semester
- Adhere to academic policies, rules and regulations set forth by the higher learning center the student is attending
- Valid driver's license
- Candidate must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
