Agricultural Technician II-Laboratory Technician II (Lead)

The NCDA&CS Nematode Assay Laboratory is seeking an Agricultural Technician II Lead to join a fast-paced lab team. Responsibilities include receiving and preparing samples for microscopic assay, assisting clients with sample submissions, checking in laboratory samples, and using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to log samples. You will extract nematodes from soil, roots, wood chips, foliage, or other plant material for identification and counting; supervise and train temporary employees; and coordinate workflow. The role requires physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, moving pallets, and operating a pallet jack or forklift. Typical hours are 7:00am–4:00pm, Monday–Friday, with potential overtime. Qualifications emphasize good laboratory and safety practices, clear oral and written communication, meticulous attention to detail, and prior laboratory experience.
