Job Summary
Conduct cleaning and repair of flood-damaged agricultural lands to restore productive capacity, including removing hay bales and debris from fields. Perform ongoing cleanup of flooded areas with standing water, assist with fencing infrastructure repair, and coordinate farm machinery restoration. Install temporary drainage systems and manage pasture renovation due to sediment deposits. Document field conditions and recovery progress while following safety protocols when working with damaged equipment. Approach daily tasks with a "ZAG" mindset. This 9-month temporary disaster relief position requires 100% onsite work at Sno-Valley Farms or Chinook Farms in Snohomish County, WA, with a starting hourly rate of $17.50.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor and wet conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate basic farm tools
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrain
- A Valid Driver's License
- Has been terminated, laid off, or received a notice of termination or layoff
- Has been temporarily or permanently laid off as a consequence of emergency or disaster conditions related to recent flooding
- Was self-employed but is now unemployed as a result of the economic impact of emergency or disaster conditions related to recent flooding
- Is a military service member recently discharged or released under other than dishonorable conditions
- Is a military spouse who experienced a PCS or ETS in the last 6 months
- Up until recently relied on another immediate family member for financial support and no longer has that support
- Has been unemployed for longer than 27 weeks
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check (including criminal, prior employment and education verification)
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience with farm equipment or agricultural operations preferred
