Job Summary

Translate product vision into an actionable backlog for NRAO’s telescope M&C software, collaborating with scientists, engineers, and operations staff to define requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria; prioritize work to deliver high-value software solutions that align with observatory missions; facilitate Scrum ceremonies and guide cross-functional teams in distributed environments; ensure compliance with NRAO/government safety policies; strong communication and stakeholder-management skills are essential to bridge researchers and developers across multiple NRAO facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, computer science, astronomy, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active certification as an Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (A-CSPO) and/or Certified Scrum Professional – Product Owner (CSP-PO)
  • Experience with agile frameworks (Scrum) and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Ability to craft a clear product vision and prioritize user stories based on value and dependencies
  • Experience working with software and hardware integration for telescope control systems
  • Ability to communicate with software engineers, scientists, and senior managers
  • Authorized to work in the United States; sponsor restrictions apply
