Agile Coach (Portfolio)

Job Summary

Lead planning for agile transformation and coaching activities, including schedules, implementation plans, and monthly status reports. Review current business practices to conduct gap analyses that define 'as-is' states and outline paths toward 'to-be' agile practices for government implementation. Assist program personnel in applying agile processes, identify risks, and lead coaching meetings with branch and division managers. Support business improvement practices by helping organizations customize their approach to becoming Agile. Must be a US Citizen with active DoD Secret clearance, willing to work on-site daily. Requires Scrum and SAFe certifications, a Bachelor's degree (or 10 years experience), and 5+ years guiding organizations through agile transformation using Scrum and SAFe. Experience working with Executives on strategy, defining value streams, and launching Agile Release Trains is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience guiding organizations through agile transformation challenges using Scrum and SAFe
  • Experience working with Executives on strategy and building the Portfolio Canvas
  • Able to define Operational and Development Value Streams
  • Experience setting up Lean Portfolio Management (Lean Governance, Portfolio Operations, Lean Budgeting)
  • Experience defining Strategic Themes
  • Must be able to work with Epic Owners and setting up Portfolio Kanbans, and defining exit criteria, working with Enterprise Architect and Epic Owners to develop Epic Roadmaps
  • Experience in Public Sector Software Development programs, preferably SAP Implementations
  • Experience in leadership coaching, organizational transformation, and Agile practices at the teams (Program and below) and at the enterprise level
  • Experience as a hands-on organizational change agent working across multiple teams and organizational boundaries
  • Experience assisting leadership and team members with removing barriers and embracing transformation by assisting each organization to customize its own path, approach and solutions to becoming Agile
  • Experience launching agile teams and Agile Release Trains, building a Continuous Delivery Pipeline with DevOps culture, and empowering a Lean Portfolio
  • Experience supporting and executing PI Planning events and coordinating multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs)
  • Experience helping agile teams implement agile technical practices and continuous integration continuous deployment (CICD) tools and pipelines
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years' experience, or 10 years' experience with no degree
  • Scrum-certified by Scrum Alliance or Scrum.org
  • SAFe Certification
  • Must be US Citizen
  • Must have Active DoD Secret clearance or Ability to Obtain it
  • Willingness to be on-site daily
