Job Summary
Lead a squad delivering agentic software delivery pipelines that orchestrate AI agents, deterministic tooling, and human signals. Own end-to-end delivery flow, decomposing requirements for specialized agents, configuring automated verification, and applying risk-calibrated routing for automated checks, agent reviews, and human approval. Drive identification and prioritisation of AI and automation opportunities within the squad’s domain, delivering end-to-end AI/automation solutions (workflow automation, assistant patterns, predictive/classification components, intelligent document processing) with governance, privacy, and risk considerations. Balance hands-on engineering with people leadership—coaching engineers on agent management, task shaping, tool selection, and review discipline—while partnering with stakeholders to align on delivery outcomes and cross-team integration. Emphasise responsible AI practices, governance, compliance, and measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, or user experience.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in software engineering in a large IT environment with progression into technical leadership
- proven people leadership experience
- strong hands-on experience with AI, automation, and agent orchestration
- delivery of AI or automation initiatives
- expert knowledge of modern software engineering practices
- understanding of data governance, ethics, privacy, and risk management
- ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language
- effective communication across engineers to senior stakeholders
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills
