Job Summary
Check guests in and out, process payments, and issue keys while resolving guest problems and providing information. Maintain room inventory, generate daily and weekly reports, and distribute messages and packages. Support group functions by maintaining resumes and serving as a liaison between planners and the hotel. Instruct new team members on company standards and procedures, and respond to special requests such as providing extra amenities. Inspect equipment, report issues, and follow up to ensure corrections. Operate the computerized front office system and handle cashier functions including currency exchanges. Work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts in a lounge and office setting with moderate to loud noise levels.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education
- Two to three years of customer service or reception experience
- At least two years of front desk experience in a similar first-class hotel
- Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form
- Be able to answer phones quickly, courteously and in a professional manner
- Ensure that guests' business is kept confidential
- Be able to operate computerized front office system
- Comprehend and follow instructions
- make decisions without supervision
- prioritize tasks in order to meet appropriate deadlines
- Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
- May be required to work evening, weekends and holiday shifts
Desired Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education preferred
- Two to three years of customer service or reception experience preferred
- At least two years of front desk experience in a similar first-class hotel preferred
