Job Summary
Build and manage the company's financial planning and analysis team while developing detailed financial models for forecasting and long-range planning tailored to the construction industry. Conduct variance analysis between actual results, budget, and forecast to identify key drivers, and monitor comprehensive financial reports and dashboards for senior management. Manage the implementation of financial policies, support special projects including M&A due diligence and capex analysis, and act as a trusted business partner to corporate departments and branch leadership. Administer existing financial systems, drive automation initiatives, and collaborate with IT teams to ensure successful system deployments and integrations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive accounting, finance and financial analysis experience
- CPA, CMA, or MBA designation
- Strong understanding of construction financials, accounting principles, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, WIP, retainage, and job costing
- Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial functions, macros)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- Proactive, Self-motivated, improvement-focused, and customer-oriented mindset
- Proficient with business intelligence (BI) tools
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in business (MBA), accounting (MAcc) or finance (MSF) strongly preferred
- At least 3-5 years specifically within the construction industry preferred
