Job Summary
Verify quantity, quality, and labeling of outgoing goods by selecting, processing, and packing customer orders from multi-level rack storage. Organize and retrieve stock, scan cartons, weigh items, and apply shipping labels while prioritizing shipments based on expected dates. Operate manual pallet jacks to maneuver products safely and handle routine shipping department needs. Maintain equipment, perform daily safety checklists, and train new associates on packing tasks. Sweep the work environment, report unsafe conditions, and meet production efficiency levels while working independently or in a team setting.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year previous experience packing freight
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be able to pass required OSHA CERTIFIED Written Test
- Must be able to pass pre-employment basic aptitude driving test
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Must be able to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to count accurately and efficiently
- Ability to focus on details
- Accuracy is a must
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 25-50 lbs
- Ability to operate a manual pallet jack
- Must be able to work the 2nd shift work schedule: currently Monday through Friday 3:00PM to 11:30PM CT
- Must be able to work overtime when necessary
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
- Must be willing to help in other departments
- Must be on time in order to comply with company attendance policy
- Must be able to prioritize orders based on customer's expected ship date
- Must be able to use a computer to pack customer orders utilizing SAP Warehouse Management
- Must be able to scan each carton
- Must be able to weigh each carton
- Must be able to apply shipping labels
- Must be able to operate manual pallet jack equipment to maneuver products within the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner
- Must be able to train new associates on the above shipping tasks
- Must be able to report any unsafe work conditions that might occur
