Aged Care Advocate - Goulburn NSW

Aged Care Advocate based in Goulburn, NSW, is a full-time role focused on empowering older people to exercise their rights and navigate aged care services. Responsibilities include listening to and assisting older people or their representatives via telephone and face-to-face support, advocating to uphold rights, addressing complaints against service providers, managing intake and advocacy cases using Salesforce, referring clients to additional services, delivering education/information sessions, developing information resources, participating in community events, promoting the organisation, and contributing to identification of systemic issues. Travel intrastate as required. Essential criteria include a degree or equivalent education in social work, psychology or related field (or equivalent relevant experience), knowledge of the NSW aged care system, strong commitment to human rights and diversity, experience engaging with trauma survivors, advocacy experience, ability to use the My Aged Care portal, workshop/presentation skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, negotiating and problem-solving abilities, understanding of ageism, proficient in Microsoft Office and database management, eligibility to drive a registered vehicle with mileage reimbursements, and willingness to obtain vaccination and a National Criminal History check plus NSW driver’s license.
