Job Summary
Embedded IP business partner for patent strategy across telecom, optics, and semiconductor domains; drive patent strategy, competing teardowns, and licensing initiatives; manage outside counsel and cross-border IP activities; lead invention harvesting and FTO analyses; support IP in commercial agreements and potential M&A diligence; primary PRC IP liaison managing CNIPA filings and export-control considerations; travel within PRC to coordinate with sites and vendors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical or legal field
- Advanced verbal and written fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English; able to draft and negotiate in both languages
- Deep familiarity with PRC IP, trade secrets, employment law, and technology-export regulatory environment; pragmatic cross-border handling
- Strong outside-counsel and project management experience across geographies; ability to operate independently as on-the-ground L&GA presence in PRC
- Experience in patent drafting, filing, prosecution, and related litigation support
- Experience with monetization strategies including licensing, SEP declarations, and cross-licensing
- Experience coordinating IP aspects of commercial agreements (NDAs, JDAs, licenses)
- Ability to lead invention harvesting, prior art searches, and use of analytics
- Capability to advise on patent-vs-trade-secret decisions and employee/contractor controls
- Travel within the PRC as needed
