Job Summary
Join LeafSpring Schools as an Afterschool Teacher to lead a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for school-age children during out-of-school hours. Responsibilities include planning and facilitating hands-on activities, games, and group projects to promote creativity, teamwork, and social development. The ideal candidate should have a friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask while following program structure. Previous experience in child-related environments is preferred, along with an understanding of child development principles.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children in afterschool programs, summer camps, child care, recreation, or youth development (preferred)
- Understanding of child development principles and developmentally appropriate practices (DAP)
- Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young children
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Ability to multitask, follow program structure, and adapt to children’s needs
- High school diploma or GED required
Desired Qualifications
- Coursework or credentials in education, child development, or related field (preferred but not required)
