Job Summary
Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of school-age children while creating a positive, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment. Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, games, arts and crafts, and enrichment experiences, including indoor and outdoor play. Assist children with homework and school assignments, encourage positive social interactions, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom. Build positive relationships with children and their families by communicating effectively with parents regarding their child's day. Follow all center policies, safety procedures, and state childcare regulations while working collaboratively with other teachers and administration. This part-time role offers flexible scheduling, paid time off, and opportunities for advancement within the Discovery Point Lutz team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be dependable, responsible, and energetic
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Must enjoy working with children and have a positive attitude
- Must meet Florida childcare employment requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working with school-age children preferred
- Childcare, teaching, camp, tutoring, or youth-program experience is a plus
