Afterschool & Summer Food Service Specialist

Job Summary
Coordinate annual site applications, food order launches, and daily field visits to monitor USDA ASAR and SFSP compliance across regional partners. Provide hands-on retraining, manage corrective actions, and facilitate annual operational training for site staff while serving as the primary point of contact for administrative support. Review real-time attendance trends to optimize daily food orders, minimize waste, and cultivate strategic partnerships with local community organizations and faith-based groups. Recruit prospective partner sites, guide them through onboarding, and collaborate with Claims Services to ensure accurate recordkeeping and seamless delivery workflows. Participate in regional meetings, assist with statewide meal donation logistics, and complete other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Youth Development, Early Childhood Education, Communications, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated ability to interpret, apply, and maintain strict compliance with federal, state, and organizational guidelines
- Superior written and verbal communication abilities, including confidence speaking and presenting to groups
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of proactive problem-solving, flexibility, and service excellence
- Exceptional time management, detail orientation, and multi-tasking abilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Resilient, collaborative, self-motivated, and deeply committed to the agency's mission
- Frequent local/regional daily travel to partner sites
