Job Summary
Deliver top-quality STEM and math tutoring instruction to K-8 students individually, in small groups, or within afterschool classes across Manhattan, homes, or virtually. Engage students enthusiastically using proven Launch curriculum and hands-on project-based enrichment, including coding with Scratch, robotics, and specialized series like "I Wanna Be..." or Marine Biologist. Assist learners in gaining confidence through remediation, homework help, and test prep while maintaining regular communication with Program Coordinators. Provide daily assignments ranging from 1.75 to 2.5 hours at $25 per hour for this part-time role.
Required Qualifications
- Subject matter expertise in related sciences, tech, or math
- Strong proficiency in primary school math through Algebra
- A passion and skill for building hands-on projects with kids
- Ability to code using Scratch, Python, and/or App Lab
- Strong desire to teach children
- Previous experience working with students as a tutor or in a similar capacity
- A relatively flexible schedule and the ability to commit to servicing students for an extended duration
- The belief that every student can learn and love math and science
Desired Qualifications
