Job Summary
Assist with day-to-day operations, including setting up snacks, facilitating activities, providing homework help, and maintaining a safe, fun environment for K-6 students. Work alongside 1-2 classroom staff to implement weekly developmentally appropriate programming, lead group games, and monitor children's behavior. Develop strong relationships with children, parents, and the JCCNV community while ensuring the classroom remains neat and well-decorated. Record accurate daily attendance and attend all trainings and staff meetings. This role supports the Chai-5 After School Program, which serves Fairfax area families through age-appropriate Jewish values-based activities.
Required Qualifications
- Available to work at least 3 days a week (M-F) from 3:00-6:00PM
- Passion for the growth and development of school-aged children
- Ability to design and maintain a welcoming classroom using age appropriate furniture, toys, decorations and supplies
- Ability to work with other classroom staff
- Ability to ensure a safe, meaningful and fun environment for children
- Ability to assist with day-to-day operations of the program
- Ability to set up daily snack
- Ability to facilitate daily activities
- Ability to give homework help
- Ability to maintain a safe and fun environment for all children in the program
- Ability to implement weekly developmentally appropriate programming
- Ability to coordinate and lead group games and activities
- Ability to attend all trainings and staff meetings
