Job Summary
Lead childcare, homework support, and enrichment activities while teaching teamwork and social skills to youth in a developmentally appropriate manner. Act as a positive role model, facilitate an environment that promotes exploration and play, and maintain ongoing communication with families, facility personnel, and supervisors. Manage program site maintenance, including setup, breakdown, cleaning, and equipment care, while ensuring compliance with YMCA policies and child safety standards. Participate in family nights, staff meetings, and required training sessions. Schedule includes Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with Wednesday hours from 12:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Enrolled in the Child Care Division Central Background Registry (oregonearlylearning.com) and proof of enrollment
- Must meet the Office of Child Care requirements for the position
- At least 240 hours of qualifying experience working with school-age children in the last five years in a Certified Child Care Center or comparable group care program
- If required to drive while on duty (either your own vehicle or a Y-owned vehicle), you must maintain a current, valid Oregon driver's license, a DMV driving record that meets YMCA standards, and evidence of insurability throughout entire term of employment
- Must be able to walk, run, stand, sit, kneel and get back to a standing position
- Ability to lift and carry the weight of 50lbs

- Bi-lingual; conversational in Spanish, French, Mandarin or Mam
