Job Summary
Manage the 91st Street Health Office from 3:00-6:00 PM daily, serving as the first point of contact for health and wellness issues during the afterschool program. Administer first aid for basic injuries, consult with the on-duty RN at the 89th Street campus regarding concerns, and communicate with families regarding any injury or illness. Supervise students who need to be picked up and document incidents in Dalton's student medical records software. Assist with arrival and dismissal from the afterschool program. This role requires First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications and is open to candidates with advanced medical training like EMT or CNA.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- First Aid Certification
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certification
- Experience working with students in grades K-3
- Excellent judgment and ability to work calmly under pressure
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without needing sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Some experience working in a school nursing office or medical field
- More advanced medical training (such as EMT, CNA or MAT)
