Job Summary
Direct supervision of a group of children in an afterschool program; plans and implements developmentally appropriate, culturally relevant activities aligned with YMCA values; supports remote learning when applicable; adheres to YMCA and EEC standards for safety and cleanliness; participates in staff meetings and training; actively supports diversity, belonging, equity, and inclusion; handles emergencies and provides first aid/CPR as needed; collaborates with parents and staff to create a positive, inclusive program.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children
- Ability to provide direct care to school-age children while reinforcing health and safety guidelines
- Ability to support children with their distance learning assignments being done remotely at the YMCA
- Ability to guide structured Clubs and enrichment activities
- Committing to support and further our anti-racist work as an organization
- Child CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and training within 30 days of hire date
- EEC training/registration prior to hire date
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
