Job Summary
Lead assigned elementary groups through planned activities and instruction that build school readiness skills, operating the program in full compliance with Bright from the Start and YMCA policies. Create environments supporting program goals while maintaining personal files, compiling attendance records, and coordinating supply orders with the Site Director. Discuss student concerns, consult on development or behavior issues, and provide input into program planning and development. Assist students with virtual learning assignments as required by their school district. Attend scheduled BFTS, YMCA, and other trainings to maintain annual training hours. Complete monthly self-assessments of the program as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must possess a minimum credential that meets BFTS requirement
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Have prior experience working with school-age children in a group setting
- Have current evidence of successful completion of biennial training in CPR/First Aid or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Have experience with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Have experience with internet technology platforms such as Google Classroom and Zoom
- Must receive a cleared GCIC/NCIC and a cleared Fingerprint check through Bright From the Start before working
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check including Criminal Record check, Drug Screening, motor vehicle record (MVR) and reference check
Desired Qualifications
- A licensed setting and supervision of staff in a school-age setting is a plus
