Job Summary
Lead hands-on, arts-based after-school classes for K-5 students in the Austin/Round Rock area, guiding open-ended design processes through project videos and mentorship rather than step-by-step instruction. Deliver full classes independently from start to finish, including student check-in, material distribution, guided making, and final clean-up of tools and spaces. Transport a 40-pound teaching kit to each school campus daily between 2:30 and 5:30, maintaining punctual attendance and consistent communication. Commit to a semester-long schedule with flexibility to teach Monday through Thursday or specific days matching availability.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with classroom management and/or teaching/coaching/mentoring elementary level children
- Personal Vehicle
- High School Diploma
- Valid Driver's License
- Existing classroom management skills
- Growth-mindset
- Can-do attitude
- Belief in the power of theatrical performance as a motivator for both creativity and classroom culture
- Ability to transport and lift a loaded Teaching Kit of approximately 32"x18"x14" and approximately 40 pounds maximum into and out of your vehicle
- Ability to engage children through dynamic and passionate action
- Ability to quickly jump into independent teaching following training
- Sincere love of teaching elementary children K-5th grade
- Existing co-teacher
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree program in an education or design related field such as education, fine art, architecture, interior design or design thinking
