Job Summary
Pick up children from local public schools and accompany them back to the Center while maintaining proper staff-to-student ratios. Review and assist students with homework assignments, provide tutoring when necessary, and keep accurate records of progress, attendance, and lunch counts. Inform the Director of any social or academic concerns and supervise children during park visits, playground time, and field trips. Organize recreational activities including games and crafts. Must be able to walk to schools, work outdoors, and maintain an A or B average.
Required Qualifications
- At least a Junior or Senior in High School with an outstanding academic report
- Maintain an "A" or "B" average in his/her own academic reports
- Be able to walk to and from schools (in assisting with school pick-ups)
- Be able to work outdoors for recreational activities
- Be flexible to assist the Director and/or other staff in any necessary tasks
- Must understand and appreciate the mission of The Salvation Army
