Job Summary

Provide active, consistent supervision of students during after-school hours to ensure their health, safety, and well-being. Create a structured, welcoming environment responsive to individual developmental and behavioral needs while planning and facilitating age-appropriate recreational, educational, and enrichment activities. Support students in following established routines and utilize de-escalation strategies for behavioral incidents, maintaining awareness of student locations and responding promptly to safety concerns. Report incidents, injuries, or unusual circumstances to school administrators and verify student departure information at dismissal. Maintain classroom and activity areas in a clean, organized condition, manage supplies and equipment, and establish positive relationships with students, families, and staff.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with passage of basic skills test
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training
  • Prior experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults in an educational, childcare, recreation, after-school, behavioral health, special education, or related setting
  • Highly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders and/or other related disabilities
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and adapts easily to changing priorities or unforeseen circumstances
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of staff members, students, parents, and the public
  • Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals
  • Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions
  • Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability
  • Well-versed in the use of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment

Desired Qualifications

  • Associates degree or higher in a related field of study
