Job Summary
Conduct sports instruction, perform drills and demos, and provide close supervision of children in basketball, soccer, flag football, and tennis programs. Introduce club members to fundamental game concepts, evaluate equipment for safety, and track participant attendance while ensuring the well-being of youth ages 6-18. Assist the Sports & Fitness Director with organizing events, setting up and breaking down equipment, and implementing new opportunities. Actively participate in training sessions and designated meetings, providing individual guidance and referrals as needed. Work part-time, up to six hours daily in afternoon or evening shifts, three to five days a week, with occasional weekend availability. Manage projects in busy, noisy facilities and outdoor locations, preparing for injuries and accidents as they occur.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Ability to communicate effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds, ages 6-18
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Degree of expertise in one or more physical activities
- General knowledge of overall athletics
- Excellent organizational and time and stress management skills
- Ability to deal with injuries and accidents as a result of recreational and sport events
- Ability to lift, carry and manage equipment and supplies
- Ability to participate in and train others in the rules of sport
- Ability to work odd or long hours at a time
- Ability to participate in or coordinate evening and off-hour activities
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to work in busy, noisy environments
