Job Summary
Plan, organize, and conduct after-school recreational programs for youth ages 5-18, including recruiting members, providing group and individual instruction, and assisting with homework. Deliver assigned Teen Campus services while ensuring a safe environment and maintaining equipment. Collaborate with families, schools, and external organizations to enhance services, and plan special events that promote sportsmanship. Submit required reports and records timely. Work part-time 20-25 hours weekly Monday through Friday in the afternoon and evening at the John E. Grimm III Clubhouse in the Bronx.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some college experience
- At least 1 year of experience in youth development
- Demonstrated ability to plan, conduct and supervise recreational/leadership programs and services
- Ability to communicate effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds, ages 13-18 as well as a range of other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
