Job Summary
Guide elementary students through project-based learning in coding, Minecraft, Roblox, video editing, and robotics during after-school sessions from 2:00 to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Manage a teacher-to-student ratio of 20:1 while ensuring consistent attendance and transporting approximately 30 lbs of equipment throughout the Elk Grove Unified School District. No formal teaching experience required, though a high school diploma and 48 college units or NCLB exam completion are necessary. Earn $20-$26 hourly with paid training included.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completed 48 college units minimally OR have taken and passed the NCLB Exam or compliant equivalent
- Must be available after school hours (approximately 2:00 - 6:00 PM), daily Monday - Friday
- Consistent attendance is REQUIRED, substitutes are not available
- Instructors must be at least 21 years of age
- Reliable transportation throughout Elk Grove Unified School District with ability to transport approximately 30 lbs of equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with technology or teaching preferred
- significant experience working with children ages 8-14 or technology, both is even better!
- Experience with children in an educational setting
- Comfortable working with teacher-to-student ratios of 20:1 for elementary schoolers
- Strong technology skills, such as a background in 3D modeling, digital arts, coding, game creation or design, animation, robotics, modifying games, video editing, competitive gaming, etc.
- significant knowledge of Minecraft or Roblox, including modding or streaming
