Job Summary
Foster a safe, inclusive environment for up to 20 youth while planning and leading age-appropriate activities that support social-emotional learning and skill building. Monitor student attendance and participation, maintain accurate daily records, and request program materials to ensure budget adherence. Build positive relationships with students, families, and stakeholders, and collaborate with the Site Coordinator to plan culminating events and off-site field trips. Comply with all safety protocols, emergency procedures, and required trainings totaling approximately 15 hours annually.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Availability Monday through Friday, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- Must successfully pass an assessment evaluating math, reading comprehension, and spelling skills
- Ability to work effectively with children and youth
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Frequent standing during working hours
- Regular use of hands for various tasks, such as operating a computer and handling objects
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in expanded learning programs, after-school programs, or youth recreation settings
- Associate's Degree in Child Development or a related field
- Previous experience working with K-12 students in academic, recreational, or youth development settings
